Mission: At Board Owl, we help organisations to succeed sustainably, and individuals to leverage, extend and enjoy their professional engagement. We match remarkable people with exceptional organisations for board positions to empower growth and make an impact.
We realized that on the one hand there were an increasing amount of qualified individuals looking to contribute their know-how to helping to shape the trajectory of companies, but lacking access to board opportunities. On the other hand, founders from smaller companies missed the diversity of insights to adapt to new trend but at the same time couldn’t afford access to right board talents through high end executive search firms. In summary, we decided we had to set out to create more transparency and flow in the board market, and to help smaller companies build better, merit-based and diverse boards, efficiently and affordably.

- 🌏 Our model has proven to work internationally, connecting businesses and individuals into their boards in 4 continents already
- 🏆 We have placed close to 100 individuals into the board of companies (startups, scaleups and SMEs) in the last 12 months
- 👩💼 Promoting diversity with as an example, 43% of our appointed members were women
We get lots of motivation from the positive feedback we receive from both companies and candidates on the matches, and particularly, on the impact the appointments have.
🧗 Your biggest challenge so far in founding a start-up?
The biggest challenge at the beginning was the one every market place has – growing both sides of the business. Indeed, we needed enough candidates to match with new opportunities but at the same time enough opportunities to have matches for our candidates. We’re happy this challenge is now solved!
🎉 What was the best part of founding a startup for you?
Being able to make an impact and work with people you like.

🐊 How did you find out about allygatr?
Sasha met one of allygator’s investors at a dinner. They had a great talk and immediately found out the many synergies between Board Owl and allygatr’s portfolio companies and how allygatr’s experience could support in scaling Board Owl and bringing the company to the next level.

You have two types of boards that we cover, Advisory board (BEIRAT) and Supervisory/Corporate board (AUFSICHTSRAT).
